ANMC Center for Disease Control, Anchorage, Alaska
As part of the 347,000 sf Alaska Native Medical Center, ABKJ designed a 2-story, structural steel Center for Disease Control laboratory on a remote corner of the site.
Harborview Research and Training Facility, Seattle, Washington
This 10-story, 180,000 sf concrete-framed research facility includes 8 levels of above-grade laboratory space and 2 levels of below-grade space for holding and testing areas. The ABKJ design included shoring to 50' depths with conventional soldier piles and underpinning along the west wall.
Seattle Biomedical Research Institute, Seattle, Washington
This 7-story, 165,000 sf laboratory and office facility is located in the South Lake Union area of Seattle, a world-famous hub for life sciences organizations. SBRI is the first lab building to be LEED® certified under the Core and Shell Pilot Program.
University of Washington Chemistry Building, Seattle, Washington
This 100,000 sf, cast-in-place concrete facility includes five levels of above-grade space and one level of below-grade space to house multiple laboratory spaces. Seismic-resisting forces are provided by cast-in-place shear walls located around the perimeter of the building.
University of Washington Foege Building, Seattle, Washington
This 265,000 sf facility houses the Bioengineering and Genome Sciences laboratories for researching drugs, vaccines, and diagnostics to improve world health. Building features include wet laboratories, support spaces, computer labs, offices, meeting rooms, a 200-seat auditorium, and underground servicing.
University of Washington K-Wing Building, Seattle, Washington
This 158,000 sf, concrete-framed building is located at the University of Washington Medical Center and includes 7 floors of research laboratories.
Washington State University Animal Sciences Laboratory, Pullman, Washington
This 21,000 sf, two-story research laboratory includes an enclosed bridge that connects to the Clark Hall building.
