The project is a renovation to the 4th and 7th floors of the existing Maleng building on the Harborview Medical campus equaling 38,700 square feet. The extent of the work includes complete demolition of the existing space and build out to provide outpatient clinical space to include exam rooms, offices, workspace, storage, and conference space.
ABKJ first assisted Collins Woerman in modeling the core and shell scope of this project for the exterior and structural walls and floors, and designed and detailed the stud walls and framed ceilings. ABKJ was later asked to further assist in coordinating with MEP trades for clash detection for the congested ceiling spaces and in-wall spaces, along with the creation of shop drawings for the very congested patient room head walls.
