A multi-storied office building for M/s MFAR Holdings, located at Cunningham Road, Bengaluru, India. The building has 2 basements + ground floor + 10 upper floors + terrace + machine room and machine room roof. The approximate total built area of the facility is 27,558 m2. The basement of the structure is used for parking and rest of the above floors are used for office space. The structural system is comprised of composite floor system (concrete slab on steel deck sheet supported by structural steel beams) as a part of the gravity system, and combination of structural steel moment frames and chevron braced frame as a part of the lateral resisting system. A ‘Top-down approach’ is adopted for the construction of this structure to avoid open cut excavation. Concrete diaphragm walls and plunged columns will be installed allowing the construction to proceed simultaneously above and below the ground level. The concrete pile columns (plunged columns) are planned to be terminated at the raft level while the diaphragm walls will extend up to the ground level acting as retaining walls after the construction. The construction sequence has been decided taking in to account the existing structure at the location.
