The Soli Residence was conceived on the notions of maximizing flexibility to facilitate accessibility needs for an aging couple. The house consists of 4,600 square feet distributed on three levels connected by a sculptural steel stair and residential elevator. The elevator provides the occupants access to all floors and exterior environments and enjoy the home equally as a whole. The main floor is offers a complete living unit with simple means to all primary and utility functions. The “Great Room” is adjacent to the master bedroom suite allowing for fluid connection and maintain constant visibility during daytime hours but may be privatized and divided by a motorized roll up door system at night. Views of Lake Washington and Mount Rainer are captured through the continuous use of expansive storefront glazing system that wraps all major living spaces to the south.
